The journey began
in a kitchen — not a lab.
One founder was training for an Ironman. The other was a parent, just trying to get his kids to eat their superfoods. Both wanted to introduce sea moss into a daily drink—something convenient, functional, and clean. But there was a problem: superfoods like sea moss are powerful in nutrients, but just as strong in taste.
Most beverages either masked it with sugar or avoided it altogether. There were the other common hydration drinks that looked healthy — but were filled with synthetic vitamins, isolated minerals, & artificial additives.
They wanted
something better.
Something functional, but simple. Clean, but powerful. A daily hydration option that actually gave the body real nutrients from real superfoods.
So they created Hunu — a superfood-powered hydration made with sea moss, sea salt, fruit and water. Light enough for athletes. Tasty enough for kids. Built on whole-food principles, not synthetic shortcuts.
That’s where it started. But Hunu is about more than one drink — it’s about redefining what hydration can (and should) be.
Why we exist.
We exist to counter the sugar-loaded, synthetically fortified drinks dominating today’s functional beverage market — sodas, energy drinks, powdered mixes, and even “healthy” waters that rely on isolated vitamins and artificial additives.
